This service was held on November 22nd at noon. Four churches gathered to celebrate thanksgiving. Rev. Larry Cochran offered the message based on Philippians 4:6-7. MaryKaye Cochran led the singing with Rev. Shayne Estes from Central UMC on guitar. Rev. Ricardo Haynes from Walmsley Blvd. UMC and Rev. Claudia Stallings from Ramsey Memorial UMC served as worship leaders.
For the November 12, the worship service focused on passing the baton in our spiritual journey. Rev. Dr. Peter Moon offered the message based on Hebrews 12:1-4 challenging each one of us to run the race of faith with perseverance keeping our eyes on Jesus. Dr. Michael Ross led the choir in music. The message on All Saints Day focusing on generosity. Lay Leader Marie Coone offered the message which was based on 2 Corinthians 9:6-8. Her message pointed us towards living a life of generosity which is based on the generosity of God in our lives. Dr. Michael Ross led the choir in music. The worship service on October 29th focused on the importance of loving God and loving our neighbor. One can only love our neighbor if one loves God. The message offered by Rev. Larry Cochran came from Matthew 22 where Jesus was asked by a teacher of the Law what is the greatest commandment. On October 15th, Rev. Dr. Gwen Andrews offered a message on the peace that God offers each one of us. There is so much need for peace in the divisive world that we live in. On this Homecoming Sunday, October 8th we celebrated 68 years of being in ministry in the community. Rev. Dr. Jonathan Page offered a powerful message on the Lord’s prayer emphasizing “Thy Will Be Done” in our lives. The children and youth offered a song titled, “I’ve got the Joy Joy Joy”.
