The message for January 14th focused on the passage from 1 Samuel 3:1-10 where Samuel is called by God and responds, “Speak for your servant is listening.” This challenges us to listen to the ways that God speaks to us and to follow through on God’s guidance. New Beginnings

Our first service of the year focused on our baptism. It was a reminder of what Christ does for us through baptism as we begin our life in Christ. The service also included the Wesley Covenant Service which calls each one of us to a new commitment in our life of faith. Rev. We closed out the year of 2023 with a service of Lessons and Carols. Several scriptures were read and carols were sung as we remembered and celebrated the birth of Jesus. Our Wondrous Light

Christmas Eve at Belmont featured a candlelight service with Silent Night being sung by all. The message focused on Mary and all that she pondered and remembered following the birth of her son Jesus. Joy, peace, hope and love is the message of Christmas. Rev. Larry Cochran offered the message using Luke 2:1-20 as scripture. MaryKaye Cochran sang a solo titled “When Love Was Born.”

Love that Transforms Us

At the 10:00 service on Christmas Eve, Rev. Dr. Gwen Andrews offered the message about God’s love for each of us as demonstrated through the birth of Jesus. The scripture came from Luke 1: 26-38 where the angle Gabriel shares the news to Mary that she will give birth to Jesus. The message today focused on John the Baptist and his message of repentance, turning back to God. Rev. Dr. Jim Melson offered the message that was compelling and inspiring using Mark 1:1-8 as the scripture.
