On this Homecoming Sunday, October 8th we celebrated 68 years of being in ministry in the community. Rev. Dr. Jonathan Page offered a powerful message on the Lord’s prayer emphasizing “Thy Will Be Done” in our lives. The children and youth offered a song titled, “I’ve got the Joy Joy Joy”. The message for August 20th focused on the transformation that occurs when renew our mind. Paul challenges us in Romans 12:1-8 to be a living sacrifice that leads us to life of worship. Rev. The worship service for August 13th focused on the story of Peter walking on water as found in Matthew 14. The messaged centered on this passage with an emphasis on fear, faith and overcoming our fears. Rev. Larry Cochran offered the message. The young people of the church sang “This Little Light of Mine” and Dr. Michael Ross led the choir in music.
We are excited to be offering a five-week on-line class, 7:00-8:30pm on Thursdays, starting September 7, entitled “Why We Can’t Wait: The Legacy of 1963 for 2023”. The Rev. Dr. Jim Melson, Director of the Cornelius Corps, will be facilitating the class and will focus on the significant events that took place in the Civil Rights movement in 1963.
