For our service on July 24th, we gathered to hear a message taken from Luke 11:1-13. Here the disciples ask Jesus to teach them to pray. The passage pointed us in the direction of having intimacy with God through prayer, being persistent in our prayer life and being bold in our prayers. Rev. The message for June 26 came from Galatians 5:1,13-25. Rev. Gwen Andrews preached on the fruit of the spirit which comes from the Holy Spirit dwelling within us. The spirit gives us love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Dr. Michael Ross led us in music. Rev. Autumn Merrill served as worship leader.
On Fathers Day, June 19th, Rev. Gwen Andrews offered a message titled Redirection. It came from the passage in Luke 8:26-39 where Jesus healed a man who was possessed by demons. Jesus sent him out to tell others what He had done for them. His life was redirected to make a difference in the lives of others. Dr. Michael Ross led the choir in music.
The message for June 12th focused on the wisdom God gives us through the Holy Spirit working in our lives. The Spirit speaks to us through scripture, to address the needs of our world and through a small still voice in our heart. Rev. On this Pentecost Sunday, the message focused on Acts 2:1-21. 120 believers waited for the gift of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit descended on them in the form of tongues of Fire and they spoke of the wonders of God. Babel was reversed at Pentecost. Rev. The May 29th message challenges us to go out of our comfort zone and make a difference in the world where God has planted us. For the May 22nd service, Rev. Dr. Gwen Andrews preached a message from Acts 16:9-15. This is the story of Paul going down to the river to find a place of prayer. He encounters Lydia and Paul offered her the Good News of Jesus Christ. Lydia and her household received the message and were baptized by Paul and became believers. Pastor Julio Serrano led the choir in music.
On May 15th, the message focused on a passage from Acts 11:1-18 where Peter conveyed to the church leadership that God’s love is for all people. No one is to be excluded from the grace of God. God welcomes the Jews and the Gentiles. This is a call for the church of today to be an inclusive church where all are welcomed with the hospitality of Jesus. Pastor Larry preached the message with Alain Peguero leading the music.
