For the March 10th worship service, Rev. Dr. Gwen Andrews offered the message based on John 3:13-22. Jesus has an encounter with Nicodemus when he makes the declaration that is the core of the Good News, “For God so loved the world, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but will have eternal life.” The message challenges us to walk in the light of Christ so that we can be a light to the world. The message for March 3 was based on John 2 where Jesus turned over the tables of the moneychangers. The message for us calls for us to be passionate about our faith, it is a call to action. Rev. On February 4th, the message focused on the renewal, strength and power we receive when we trust in the Lord. Rev. Larry Cochran offered the message from Isaiah 40:28-31 and Mark 1:29-39. We also looked at the priorities of Jesus that included spending time in prayer and ministering to those in need. The service can be seen here and on our Facebook live site. Rev. Dr. Gwen Andrews offered the message from Mark 1:21-28 where Jesus’s people recognized the authority Jesus had as he healed a man with an unclean spirit. The challenge for us is to recognized the authority of Jesus in our own lives. The anthem “What He Has Done For Me” had everyone clapping and smiling. Dr. Michael Ross led the choir in music. For our January 21st worship service, we focused on the story of Jonah and the calling of the disciples by Jesus in Mark 1. In Jonah 3, we see where God spoke to Jonah a second time to have him go to the city of Nineveh calling them to repent. The message for January 14th focused on the passage from 1 Samuel 3:1-10 where Samuel is called by God and responds, “Speak for your servant is listening.” This challenges us to listen to the ways that God speaks to us and to follow through on God’s guidance.
