Rev. Dr. Gwen Andrews offered the message for worship on April 7th taken from 1 John. We were challenged to keep eyes focused on Jesus who leads us on the way of faith. Dlr. Michael Ross led the choir in music.

The church celebrated the resurrection of Jesus Christ through music and preaching. Rev. Larry Cochran offered the message based on John 20:1-18 with a sermon title, “Who are You Looking For?” Dr. Michael Ross led the choir in music. Kay Nicholas and Raquan Williams both offered solos. On this Good Friday, the church offered the Tenebrae service where the Passion of Christ was shared through 16 readings. Dr. Michael Ross led the church in music. MaryKaye Cochran offered a solo titled, “The Lamb of God.”

Liam Fairfax offered the message for our Maundy Thursday service. The message was titled “What is Love?’ which was based on Jesus message at the Passover meal the night before he was crucified. The service can be seen here and on our Facebook Live site.

On this Palm Sunday, we began the week with our annual Easter Cantata. This musical event remembered the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and what that means for all of us. David Barden, Kay Nicholas and MaryKaye Cochran offered solos. Fred Boswell and Ann Henderson did a rendition of “The Old Rugged Cross” on the tenor sax and oboe. For the March 10th worship service, Rev. Dr. Gwen Andrews offered the message based on John 3:13-22. Jesus has an encounter with Nicodemus when he makes the declaration that is the core of the Good News, “For God so loved the world, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but will have eternal life.” The message challenges us to walk in the light of Christ so that we can be a light to the world. The message for March 3 was based on John 2 where Jesus turned over the tables of the moneychangers. The message for us calls for us to be passionate about our faith, it is a call to action. Rev.
