We are excited to be offering a five-week on-line class, 7:00-8:30pm on Thursdays, starting September 7, entitled “Why We Can’t Wait: The Legacy of 1963 for 2023”.  The Rev. Dr. Jim Melson, Director of the Cornelius Corps, will be facilitating the class and will focus on the significant events that took place in the Civil Rights movement in 1963.  Using a variety of resources, we will look at and discuss the Letter from the Birmingham City Jail, the Medgar Evers assassination, the bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church, the assassination of President Kennedy, as well as other 1963 events.  Please find attached a flyer that you can use to register for the class.  Feel free to share this flyer with folks who might be interested.  We look forward to being in conversation with you as we reflect sixty years later on this pivotal year in the Civil Rights movement.
